Participatory, site-specific installation at Groningen's north train station (Kunstprojecten Noorderstation), inviting surrounding neighborhood's residents and passersby to collectively weave on a 6 meter long loom, participate in weaving workshops, guided walks in the close-by neighboorhoods - Selwerd and De Hoogte, gathering and bringing materials to use on the 6-meter long loom, specifically designed for the station's old staircase.

"It is my belief that crafts can act as a bridge between people, communities, and the environment. This project is part of my ongoing research into craft as a means of connection to the here and now, and to one-another."

Believing that crafts can act as a bridge between people from different backgrounds and cultures, Between|#|Be-twined taps into the history of two Groningen neighborhoods: Selwerd – where I live – and De Hoogte, who were physically separated by the railways for many decades (1884-1974) thus developed with no connection, one as wealthy residential area, and the other as a working-class accommodation.
In reference to the historic-geographic division and as a mean of connecting people with their environment through tangible experience, the project initiated a public program including guided walks where participants gathered materials and visual elements, hands-on workshops that integrated sustainability & DIY, working with locally plants and repurposing existing materials.
